Can I run WiseChef on my own Mac instead of a Hetzner server? +
Yes. Framework supports local-first deployment on Apple Silicon (Mac Studio, Mac mini cluster, or even a well-specced MacBook Pro) using MLX for LLM inference. We have customers running Kimi K2.6 and Qwen3 Coder locally with zero recurring inference cost — a one-time hardware buy that pays back in 3-4 months compared to AWS simulation workloads at $3-4K/mo per seat. Best fit for dev teams, labs, and sensitive workloads that benefit from air-gapped operation. Hetzner remains the default for always-on production.
How is Framework Managed different from Framework? +
Framework is self-serve. Managed adds a human SLA (4h P1, 24h P2), a Compliance Evidence Bundle (NIS2 audit config, DORA register template, AI Act Article 12 logging, jurisdiction-specific DPA), managed deploys / updates / backups / SSL, and a monthly review. Managed is the right tier if you are a lawyer, auditor, healthcare provider, or DORA-regulated fintech who cannot afford DevOps improvisation.
Does $999 Managed include all compliance certificates? +
It includes evidence artefacts for NIS2, DORA Article 28, AI Act Article 12, and per-jurisdiction DPAs. Hetzner itself is ISO 27001 certified. If you need BSI C5, SecNumCloud 3.2, or HDS certification for top-tier regulated workloads, we partner with IONOS, STACKIT, T-Systems, or OVHcloud at cost and wrap the delivery — discussed during scoping.
Do the products have a pilot period or trial? +
Framework and Visibility are month-to-month from the first payment. There is no formal free trial — if you are unsure whether the product fits, book a short call before subscribing. Rescue includes a free scan before any payment; you pay $7 only to unlock the full report. Framework Managed starts with a scoping call; we do not take managed-tier money without understanding your regulatory context first.
Can I cancel anytime? +
Yes. Framework, Framework Managed, and Visibility cancel at the end of the current billing month. No lock-in. For Framework and Managed, your Hetzner server and data remain yours — we do not delete anything.
What is the refund policy? +
Rescue: if a scan produces no actionable findings, reach out and we review it. Framework and Visibility: refunds are not automatic but we handle genuine cases with common sense — contact us within 7 days of a charge. Framework Managed: monthly-billed with no lock-in; a pro-rata refund within the first 7 days if the onboarding does not match expectations. Consulting packs are paid on fixed milestones — deposits are refundable before meaningful work begins; delivered work is not.
What about VAT? I am in Poland or the EU. +
WiseChef operates from Poland. Polish VAT applies where required. EU B2B customers with a valid VAT ID may be subject to reverse charge — provide your VAT ID during checkout. Outside the EU, no EU VAT is charged. Consulting is invoiced in EUR.
Can I combine products? +
Yes. There is no bundle pricing, but nothing stops you from running Framework Managed, subscribing to Visibility, and booking a consulting pack on top. They work independently and reinforce each other.
