Questions we answer before the call.
We try to answer the obvious questions here so the first call can be about your actual problem.
What does WiseChef actually do? +
We build, rescue, and instrument AI systems for companies that have moved past evaluating AI and need one that works in production. Four productised services (Framework, Recipes, Rescue, Visibility) plus a consulting practice for anything custom.
Is this a SaaS or a consulting firm? +
Both, by design. The productised services have fixed prices and a self-serve signup. The consulting practice is scope-based and priced from €2,500. Most serious engagements start with consulting, then fold into a product where it fits.
Who owns the code you write? +
You do. Every engagement ends with the client owning the code, the infrastructure configuration, and the data. No white-label reselling. No locked-in abstractions between you and your data.
What stack do you work in? +
We default to: Hetzner Cloud (EU), Cloudflare tunnels and DNS, Postgres / Redis / Elasticsearch for agent state, Docker for tenant isolation. For agents: OpenClaw as the conversational runtime, Cognee for structured knowledge, Paperclip for task orchestration, multiple LLM providers behind a fallback router. We can work in your stack if you have one — but this one works, and we run it ourselves.
Do you sign DPAs / NDAs? +
Yes to both. Standard EU contractual clauses in our DPA. We can also execute your paper — within reason and within a week, not three months.
Do you have SOC 2 / ISO 27001? +
No, and we are honest about that. See the security page for the full posture. If those certifications are a hard requirement, tell us on the first call and we will tell you if this engagement makes sense.
Can the product stack run on my own infrastructure? +
Yes. We have done this for a regulated on-prem engagement (see the Work page). Expect a 1–2 week lead time for the provisioning scripts to target your environment.
How do you price consulting? +
Fixed-scope engagements starting at €2,500. We write down what we are going to build, what it costs, and how long it takes before work starts. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices, no retainer creep.
What if my agent is on fire right now? +
Use Rescue — free scan, $7 to unlock fixes. If it is beyond the scanner, book a call and we will jump on it within the same business day.
How small is the team, honestly? +
Small. The founder is directly involved in every engagement. That is why the engagement model is fixed-scope and why we are honest about capacity — currently 2 consulting slots open for Q2.
What happens if you decide to stop doing this? +
You still own the code, the data, and the infrastructure. Nothing we sell is a platform you get locked into. The multi-tenant Framework product can be detached from our control plane and run standalone; the provisioning scripts and all configuration live in your own GitHub org.
Why the chef metaphor? +
Agent orchestration is the same shape as running a kitchen: one head chef (the orchestrator), line cooks (specialist sub-agents), a pass (the queue), a shared mise en place (the knowledge layer). The metaphor holds up further than you would expect.
